Our Portrait Hill pool season begins on Wednesday, May 1st , 2024! The pool and pool
deck will be open for use for members of the association and their accompanied guests.
Before we celebrate the warmer weather and endless trips to the pool this summer, we
want to remind you of a few housekeeping rules:
- Please make sure you review the pool rules for 2024. A copy of these have been
mailed to all residents, but you can also find them on the Documents page. As a
reminder, per SCDHEC regulations, night swimming is not allowed. If you or any
member of your household, or your accompanied guests, are caught swimming
in the pool at night, your pool privileges could be revoked for the remainder of the
pool season. - Fobs are required for entering the pool. If you are having issues with your pool
fob or need a replacement, please contact MJS directly at 803-743-0600. - The pool and pool deck are shared community space; please clean up all
garbage and properly dispose of it. This includes trash that was disposed of after
a reserved event on the pool deck. Make sure you take all your belongings with
you as you exit the area. When using the restrooms, please be mindful of using
the space as if it were in your home and help us keep it as clean as possible. If
you or any member of your household, or your accompanied guests, are caught
vandalizing the bathrooms, your pool privileges could be revoked for the
remainder of the pool season.
These rules are designed to help us maintain the facility and make the use of the facility
more enjoyable. Please be respectful and courteous as you enjoy our community’s
amenities.
The board is also aware that there is a growing desire for the pool season to begin
earlier and possibly extend later in the year. To add two additional months (Opening
April 1 st and ending October 31 st ) will cost around $4400. Although this is not expensive,
we do not wish to use funds for this year towards opening the pool. We would rather
use that money for other projects like repairing and repainting the pool columns, fixing
damaged/broken security cameras, etc. We are very mindful of how funds are being
spent and what they are being spent on. We have made plans for projects this year that
need to be addressed. A list of projects that we have planned for this year will be added
to our website in the coming weeks. The pool will open as normal on May 1 st and end on
September 30 th . We will reconsider the pool season schedule for next year when we
review the budget for the association at the end of this year.
