At 2:50 AM on August 2nd, 2024, the cameras around the pool and cabana area captured three teenage boys entering the pool facility. Upon their arrivial, they began vandalising it by throwing pool furniture and garabage cans into the pool. One of the three boys is seen filming the incident and each individual is wearing a mask to conceal their identity. After leaving the pool facility, this same group of boys were seen shaking and violently rocking a light pole at the roundabout, attempting to knock it over. Furthermore, there is video evidence of this same group of boys destroying a homeowner’s property shortly after 3 AM. Additional damage was also done throughout the community, including damaging 5 landscape lights that association recently replaced and breaking some of the mailbox receptacle keys.
These incidents will not be tolerated and should the board identify the individuals responsible for this, they will be held accountable for their desetable behavior. The Richland County Sheriff’s Department is now involved and investigating the incident. RCSD is also investigating if this incident is related to a previous occurence a few weeks ago where intentional damage was done to 15 landscape lights and mailbox receptacle keys. If anyone has any information regarding this incident, please contact the board of directors or RCSD immediately. Information regarding the resolution of this incident will be forthcoming. We appreciate everyone’s cooperation and patience in this matter.
A special thank you to all the residents that helped clean up the pool and cabana area. As frustrating as incidents like this can be, there are still wonderful people who make living in Portrait Hill a great community to be apart of.
