At the annual meeting, Courtney Sanders from MJS, Inc. informed the membership that during the next board meeting, it would be decided if the board would keep or change the positions held by each member. The board met yesterday evening, September 19th, 2024 and decided to keep their positions as they relatively stood.
However, there is one significant change to the board of directors. Richard Henderson has resigned from his position as the Member At Large due to professional and personal obligations. Rich, the Board of Directors sincerely thanks you for all of your time and effort you have put into making our community a place that people love to live. Your intentionality and efforts were beyond extraordinary and your leadership will be greatly missed.
After careful consideration, the board has decided to appoint Lisa Blackmon to the Board of Directors. She will fulfill the role of Member At Large and serve in the remainder of Rich’s three year term. Jerad McDaniel will now oversee the Maintenance Committee and Lisa will oversee the Architectural Review Committee. Lisa, we are excited to have you join us and appreciate your involvement in the community leading up to your appointment. You can read more about Lisa below:
“I have lived in Portrait Hill since September 2020, when my husband, Jeff, and I relocated from Rhode Island with our 2 boys, Brayden and Wyatt. We really love living in PH and helping out to ensure our neighborhood remains a well-kept and desirable place to live. Previously, I served on the Social Committee and worked with Sidney Kaine on the HOA Architectural Review Board. I completed several architecture reviews during his tenure on the board. Along with Nicole Davidson, I helped with the landscaping at the neighborhood’s main entrance and expect to help out when needed going forward.
My background is in Information Technology, which I did for the past 30 years in various roles. I currently work at South Ground Supply Company (formerly Woodley’s Garden Center), which allows me to tutor my high schooler in the afternoons. I am reliable and dedicated to completing tasks, and will bring my experience in budgeting, planning, collaboration, and project management to the board.
I believe in open communication and transparency and want to ensure the best decisions are made for our neighborhood and fellow residents. I am thrilled to join the HOA Board to continue supporting our community and help keep Portrait Hill a wonderful place to live.”
